Haiku Friday

Haiku My Heart: Robin Pauses

Robin poised on bough:
To perch or to soar away?
Ask cherry blossoms.

Haiku my heart is the vision of Rebecca Brooks at "recuerda mi corazon." If you would like to participate, just post your haiku on Fridays with an accompanying photo on your blog and link back to recuerda mi corazon.

I look forward to sharing haiku every Friday with you!

  1. Margaret,
This is simply lovely. It has an Asian quality about it, the robin redbreast and the cherryblossoms. It is a photograph but it appears painterly, and it takes one's breath away really. I love the way the bird is cradled in the bough. I was born in Washington D.C. and remember Cherryblossoms from when I was a small child. I love your Haiku. It is beautiful. I am thrilled that you have joined us my dear!!
    xoxo,
    Noelle

  3. welcome margaret!
exquisite haiku...i love the idea of life around us holding on to the story of life within it. the cherry blossoms...left holding the essence of robin. the earth that receives our footprints, the sky that captures us as we look up pondering heaven.

    so glad you are here!!!

Thanks for visiting! Well, the cherry blossoms are the closest things around to ask... The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind. ♥

  8. Hi O Sentinel! Glad you stopped by. And we'll all sleep a little easier knowing Point Loma is being watched over by a vigilant angel! ♥

  9. To Noelle~ thank you for your charming, carefully thought-out comments. Washington DC is the most amazing place in the whole world to be in April! Thousands of branches dripping with pink and white blossoms. And that scent! I think your cloest orchard is in San Francisco? For me, it's Newark, NJ. ♥

  12. HI kj! I like the way you saw my haiku. It's not always easy to be a self-assured decision maker. You know, in some parts of the world, they still read tea leaves. ♥

  14. Be still my heart. We have a taste of spring here the last we days. As I see your photo. I ask could it be so? Tree blooms are so fragile. Many a year of blooming too soon. I so love to see the glee they bring. Thanks for sharing your wonderful words and photo. :)

  22. Thank you for this breath of spring. The sentiment of your poem resonates within me like expanding circular ripples from a pebble tossed into a stream.
