July full moon over Hawaii

July full buck / blood moon

Last night the rays from the full moon
Touched me with a silv'ry, languorous scent.
I breathed deeply. I breathed again.
Then from the other side of the earth
Came a largess of beams; my heart unraveled.

July's full buck moon: ~ The bucks nuzzle their velvet ~ To reveal antlers.

Lyra in July Skies

The harp lies in the July skies, placed there by Zeus.

In its handle is the brilliant Vega,

An Adonis among stars adorning the lyre

In memory of the stricken Orpheus

Who died looking back at Eurydice.

Dying, she grew more and more beautiful,

A Ring Nebula in the lyre of Orpheus.

But perhaps it's just a dream . . .
