the Boss, Bruce Springsteen

The dream of a lifetime was being at Giants Stadium in New Jersey to see Bruce Springsteen's Working on a Dream tour. "Bring on your wrecking ball. Come on, take your best shot," was the opening number in tribute to all the concerts Bruce and the E Street band had performed at this stadium, now to be torn down and replaced.

Standing in the pit, we began the E Street Shuffle which was originally started at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park down the shore. This was followed by Bruce's signature song, "Born to Run."

Born in Freehold, New Jersey, Bruce was drawn to "Jersey Girls." "Now baby won't you come with me Cause down the shore everything's all right. Nothing matters in this whole wide world When you're in love with a Jersey girl." The Urban Dictionary says, "Girls from Jersey are absolutely different from just normal girls. Jersey Girls create their own definition. Jersey Girls are about being the life of the party, and not caring whom they're with or where they are; they will still make the night memorable in every way possible. Skanky? Yes they are, but they have the attitude to make you love them. They don't view life as hell; they view life a a huge party, and they're going to take risks more than be controlled and reserved. They wear caked make-up and shaggy-cut, multicolored, teased hair."

Bruce values the American dream, from despair to hope. He is, after all, "Born in the USA."

  3. Hi Delwyn~ It was so wonderful! And he sang your song, "Into the Fire!" I think yuo'll like this new song, too: "Working on a Dream, " that is posted below.
Patty wasn't there. She's not so popular here. I wonder if it's a possessive jealousy, "He's OUR Bruce?" Something like that? But he just poured out everything he had, and it was so full of love and energy. xxox

Hi Blues! I can't believe you found that Bruce Springsteen icon! How cool was that!! Yes, his words are very meaningful, but it's his passion that carries it. Nothing like it. He's on a tour: maybe you'll catch him somewhere in the midwest?
