I enjoyed another lashing of Mary's place - does Brucey really sweat that much...or does he pour water over himself...He did change shirts a few times in the concert I attended...
Yep, I can confirm you have all the hallmarks of the end of summer above...you have a funny typo which adds to the post - you have 'a bum dance' of seeds...
Merde ! L'été est bien terminé... Mais vive les couleurs de l'automne...
Buttloads of seeds lol. So true it is Margaret as I hear the crunch of acorns with each step down our walk. Happy Autumn it's my favorite time of year. Thanks for sharing the beauty.
oh margaret, stunning pics - especially the second one down!!! our trees aren't quite that far along on the whole although a couple have done an early turn and dropped a heap of leaves. have a lovely saturday. steven
Hi Margaret! I love the pumpkins! That is a sure sign of autumn, my favourite season! Do you decorate for Halloween? I think I may carve a jack-o-lantern this year!!!
Another fab and luscious post, Margaret. I can pretty much predict the weather by when my plants go to seed. My Moonflowers went to seed early this year, so I'm hoping it's a sign of a cooler Fall and Winter. I've already collected Basil seeds for next year. My Belpeppers are still blooming and growing little baby peppers. LOL! I love Mother Nature. Love & Blessings!!
Hi Delwyn! Oh, does he sweat! That guy is so athletic--he does all kind of gymnastics on stage! Remember how he used the microphone stand to do exercises on?! Thanks for going back to the post and listening! I fixed the error--thank you! Too funny! Bluesvox picked up on it and called it buttloads of seeds. (Well, notice I finally got it done at 3 am!!) Have a great weekend, Delwyn ~ LOVE xxox ----- Salut Jeff! That was pretty funny! Delwyn gave me a heads-up above so I could follow your drift! Fixed! The acorns are unbelievable this year! You have to be careful where you park your car (unless you have room in your garage). Doesn't that mean we can expect a severe winter? Yikes! Have a good week-end! ----- Thanks, Steven! Our trees haven't done that much yet either; it always starts with that one maple tree! I don't even think there's much fall foliage closer to you yet--in the Catskills and Adirondacks. (not to rush it!) Have a good weekend! ----- Thanks, Rain! You'll have to go back to that farm for gourds and baby pumpkins! That's an amazing place. This year I'm putting out jack-o'lantern luminarias along our long driveway; otherwise everyone thinks twice before coming to the door to trick-or-treat! LOVE xxox ----- Hi Marion! Sounds like you have the same rhythm as we do, just a little behind! I think our peppers were the last to go, too. Guess we'll have to start winter gardens! (although I don't think anything would make it up here; it gets too cold :( LOVE xxox
Yes, all the signs are here, there and everywhere in the Northern Hemisphere announcing - along with the calendar the official advent of Autumn. Love the 2nd photo you posted - and your changing maple. Just a magnificent time of year.
I, too, am enjoying the beautifully crisp and rusting days of autumn--after our one month-long summer it seems a bit soon, though.
When we had our Golden/Collie dog she'd come in from the fields looking like a walking seed bed. The acorns around here are just beginning to tumble; I saw two small but perfect ones on my walk today.
Isn't it lovely to share the beauties of this season through the blogosphere!
Hi, Bonnie! Yes, no turning back now! Someone else liked that picture, too--thank you. It's a castor plant. ----- Hi Gry! That's a good point. We can look forward to all the seasons, knowing that spring and summer aren't far behind. ----- Hi Lynne! My hope is that we'll have an Indian summer in a week or so. You're right: we got cut short with summer this year.
Hi Margaret...Your flowers are perfect autumn scenes with their orange and yellows...I am readying my garden for the season...picked all the tomatoes today and will harvest all the parsley, rosemary and basil tomorrow. Summer is at an end...may frost here this coming week! Enjoyed all your photos!
Hi Dan~ I like that rust-colored variety of sunflower, too--strange to see the strength it has to hold its head straight up! Just that one maple is turning! It's true that it's so beautiful now, but also melancholy at the loss of summer. ----- Hi Sharon~ I've been getting pelted with acorns! doesn't that bode badly for a mild winter? I love your sentence, btw. ----- Hi Saj~ It's so hard to grasp the doings of the northern and southern hemispheres at the same time!
Hi Wanda~ I missed you in the order--sorry! Someone else mentioned culling basil seeds. I should do that. I think you are a little south of us, yes? It still looks so green there! Will you plant a winter garden with kale, potatoes, etc.? Every season has its glories. LOVE

I like the fourth and next-to-last photos. They capture early fall so well. Such a lovely, poignant time of year.
