They remind me of toddlers--spontaneous, playful, aloof, loving, cuddly all rolled into one. They really are part of the family. They even consider themselves brother and sister!
What a beautiful, fat cat! I currently have four kittens and am trying to decide which one to keep.
One is yellow, one is black, one is calico and one is black and white bob-tailed. My husband tells me I have to choose only one and it's going to be tough. I've never had a yellow cat, but he's the unfriendliest one of the litter. The ugly, black one is the sweetest. Sigh. I may end up with all four! LOL! Great post, Margaret. You dog is having so much fun in the sprinkler!
Hi Marion! Are they going to be indoor-outdoor cats, or will you use litter boxes? Actually, both ways are relatively low maintenance. Especially if you feed them dry food. With cats, you can go away for a few days with just a bit of help. I've heard that the most intelligent and social cats are the orange tabbies. That's why we always get one, and we love them! What about the calico? Is that considered a tabby? I say keep all four! After all, they're not dogs!
Great post Margaret!!! Where I live, there are a lot of homeless cats, and there are (I've counted so far) six who like to hang out in my garden in the shade. The community around here really takes care of them, they feed them and build shelters in the woods for them during the wintertime. I love that photo of your dog and the sprinkler!!! That just oozes summertime!!!
Thanks, Rain! Our cat was one of those strays; it seems that's something we try to keep up with in this country. Daisy is an all-black purebred German shepherd. No one ever guesses because of her coloring! And now to the air element!!
Your deck looks like a nice place to relax in the summer time--surely the cat thinks so. We've got one pet, a geriatric black cat from the time long ago when our kids were little. Rosie spends most of her day on our deck.
I'm happy to know the Prayer of St Francis is so well known.
Hi Dan~ What a pleasant surprise to have you visit! I wanted to congratulate you again on your Honest Scrap award from Delwyn: now you have to make that list! I know, make that everyone's homework on one of your posts, and we can all submit them and compare notes! Have a peaceful, joyful 4th of July filled with light, Dan. Blessings, Margaret

Lovely animals! We also have a dog and a cat, and they are such a pleasure to be with. I think animals make the best companions sometimes, don't you?

ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful garden! And the cat acts as if he is a lion king!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Gry! The cat is king, and at the same time he stretches out and relaxes all day! Do you have a cat or any pets?
