my old home in northern California

A field of clover ~ The endless sky of summer ~ Marks of my old home.

"Please stop, Ratty!" pleaded the poor Mole, in anguish of heart. "You don't understand! It's my home, my old home! I've just come across the smell of it, and it's close by here, really quite close. And I must go to it, I must, I must! O, come back, Ratty! Please, please come back!"
~from The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame

  5. Thanks, Mrs. Slug~ "It's never the wrong time to call on Mrs. Slug. Early or late she's always the same slug. Always good-tempered, always glad to see you, always sorry when you go!" and I do think we live more by our senses than we realize. Love, margaret

Thanks, Marion~ In my mind's eye, this reminds me of your home. Less humid, of course. (this lush greenery is all from watering, by hose or ditch, near the house). I wish you never, ever have to endure a hurricane again. Love, Margaret

Hi, Dan~ this is near the house! some of the outer areas look like your header! Although I think your header photo is grain--alfalfa, oat, wheat?

Hi Artbrush~ thanks for the compliment and for visiting! Best, Margaret

  9. It was nice to have you visit Margaret...your blog appeals to me also...your trick on internet explorer is another way I go directly...but I actually like the reader...no chance of missing any posts of my favorite bloggers...I don't trust my memory to not overlook someone...I just click the orange B at the top of my blog and I'm at the reader on the dasboard(1 click)...I'll be adding your blog to it right away.

A Wind in the Willows is a favorite...it's kept by a comfy chair for my grandchildren to pick up and read...I am in southwestern Ohio, near Cicinnati, but in the country.
Your garden is lovely! Please visit often...I don't post everyday like Delwyn...aim for every 3 days. Thanks again! Wanda

  10. Hi Wanda! I'm glad you came by! That is a very good ploy in moving around this blogger world. I have them written on a pad and go down the list, but let's say I begin following someone new, I have to remember to add them to the list, and it goes on and on... your idea is the best. Thank you! and thanks for signing on. I bet Winnie the Pooh is another of your grandchildren's favorites? I loved that book so much. I lok foward to seeing you soon, your place and mine! Best, Margaret
