I have several of the same books as you. I've got a signed copy of Jon Cabot Zinn's Coming to Our Senses that I picked up when he was doing his book tour for that book some years ago. I had a nice chat with him. Snooping through people's bookshelves can be verrry interesting, sort of like peeking in medicine cabinets.
I see a few familiar tomes there but what grabbed my eye is the little plaster of Paris plaque - just like the one I bought it Monterosso... where did you get your from?
I am wondering why you have posted all these photos as individual posts. You know you can do five then go back and do another set of five as many times as you like?
They take a long time at full resolution too. You can decrease the pixels to make it faster.
Well we certainly have a lot in common! I also have books everywhere, in practically every room of the house. As well as art supplies, notebooks, inspiration, and good intentions. :0) Your home looks very cozy and inviting!
Margaret! You're my Yankee twin! LOL! I'm amazed at how many of the same books we share. I guess that' what draws us to each others' blogs, our similarities.
I have 8 huge bookshelves and about 12 plastic containers of books, so I must post more. It's a blast looking through others' books. Blessings, and have a great weekend!
Dan~ I can't believe that you have the Zinn book and that you've met him! I love that book. I use it as a resource often--I find poetry and quotes from other writers in there, too. I ws thinking about the time difference, and then I realized if I post at 1:30-2 am (Friday, not a weekday!), it's still 10:30-11:00 pm your time. Best, Margaret
Hi Delwyn! I'm trying to figure out what was the plaster of Paris plaque you mentioned: the painting of Montmartre (with the windmill in the back?) which I got in Pigalle or the little Om votive stand? Let me know--I'm curious! Most of these posts contain two photos (some side-by-side). I had no idea you could do five at once! When I think about it, I've seen longer posts, but the label box seems to pop up when I've entered two. thanks, that is great info! btw, my desk w/computer and the infamous empty journals are on the following page (press Older Posts). Take care, Margaret
Hi Angela! Isn't it amazing how everything flows over, and you need new bins, shelves, etc.! I just mentioned above to Delwyn that if you hit "Older Posts" at the bottom of the fist page, you can see my desk and the infamous (because everyone seems to have them) empty notebooks! Thanks for the compliment! Best, Margaret
Hi Marion, when i saw your books and creative areas, I thought I was lookig in a mirror. I have to tell you--as I mentioned above--that those empty notebooks of ours are on the following page; you press "Older Posts" to get there. btw, I'm showing 8 bookcases but no bins, so I think you're way ahead! My passion is walking into that bookstore or reading the New York Times book review and going on amazon. what pleasure. Luv, Margaret
Gry, great to hear from you! I just checked your site to see if you were back, and you're in Denmark! How's it going? That sunset is beautiful--I love the colors. Enjoy the rest of your vacation and see you soon!
I love to snoop in people's studies and run my eyes along their book shelves. Can't believe there are sad people who have not books. Perhaps a comparison of book shelves would be a blog undertaking?
Hi Friko! I bet we'd be amazed to see how much our bookcases have in common. Delwyn at www.ahazymoon.blogspot.com started it by posting her bookshelves and art projects and then Marion at www.dragonflyspoetryandprolixity.blogspot.com went next! Now I've done it! Friko, why don't you take a look at those two sites and then you go next and send the three of us a "comment" that your bookcase post is up and running! And announce it in advance on your blog, too! It's fun! (Dan said above it's a little like peeking in medicine cabinets!) Luv

I love books too, but haven`t space for them all.

ReplyDeleteHi Margaret
ReplyDeleteIt was the painting of Montmarte - it looks so similar to a wall plaque I bought in Monterosso - must be the colours and the European buildings...
I'll have to go star gazing tonight...a few clouds about now but it may clear...
Happy days
